Chest Congestion Salve

Description

This is the holistic equivalent to store bought vapor rubs. This is great to alleviate chest congestion and assist in expelling mucous from the lungs while also helping boost the immune system.

Ingredients: Herbal infused oil of: olive oil, peppermint, spearmint, mullein, wild cherry bark, cinnamon and beeswax. Essential oils of eucalyptus and oregano.

*Peppermint is a soothing aromatic with a mild palliative effect on colds, fevers and headaches.

*Spearmint used commonly for colds and sore throats. It has been shown to be anti-inflammatory.

Mullein is mostly used for respiratory ailments. It has a soothing and hydrating effect on the lungs. It contains saponins which can loosen mucus. It can be used for chronic conditions such as asthma and COPD but is most often used for colds and coughs, particularly dry coughs.

Wild Cherry Bark is an excellent expectorant.

*Cinnamon helps with circulation.

EO Eucalyptus is antiviral and an expectorant. It can also help with nasal mucous membrane inflammation.

*EO Oregano is antifungal, antiviral, immune stimulant and antiseptic to the respiratory system. Commonly used for asthma, bronchitis, pulmonary TB as well as colds and flu.

*Caution:

Peppermint, spearmint and cinnamon should be used cautiously while breastfeeding as it may lead to drying up.

oregano oil should never be used for more than 7 days in a row with a 2 day break.
